Hikers Photograph Cat-Like Animal in Pennsylvania
Pa. — Two hikers in the woods of center Pennsylvania photographed a cat-like creature they weren’t able to identify.
Richard Davis, a 24-year-old technician from Maryland, says he and his fiancee were driving out of the area after a few hours of hiking when they encountered the animal last Sunday. The man provided a specific location but was omitted due to privacy reasons.
“We didn’t exit the woods yet. The animal was startled by my car,” Davis told Cryptozoology News. “I stopped the car and it turned around”.
That’s when Davis stepped out of the vehicle to take a better look at the creature.
“I was a little under 20 yards from the animal. My fiancee took the pictures on my iPhone from inside the car.”
The two photographs show what appears to be a long-haired feline with a “lighter coloring” than a regular bobcat and an unusual looking tail.
He explained that the animal didn’t make any sounds but that the animal was interested in him when he “tried calling it”.
“That got its attention,” he says, adding that he regrets not having a better camera with him at the time of the sighting.
But some internet users argue that what the hikers came across is just a feral cat.
“That’s just a big, long haired, orange tomcat. We have a bunch of those in the neighborhood. Tomcats can get huge. It’s not a “cat-like” creature… it’s a cat,” says Facebook user Luis-Christina Aldrich Torres.
Davis, who claims to have seen bobcats and mountain lions in the area before, says this time it was different and wonders what he really saw that day.
“It definitely was a type of wild cat, it moved just like a cat,” he said in reply to the possibility of it being a dog. “It had the exact face of a bobcat, although it is hard to tell in the pictures. It had almost the tail of a fox, I thought it was a fox until it turned around,” he said. “It was about two feet long not counting the tail.”

I truly believe this is just a large tomcat (male Cat) He looks just like the one laying on my lap this very moment! I can see how one as large as this, would startle someone not accustomed to very large tomcats.

Looking closely at the creature, it definately has the facial features of a bobcat. It is most likely a crossbreed of some sort. Remember though…. Bobcats n lynx have short stubby tails. And from the picture we can’t tell how big it really is. How far away was it and it’s size compared to something of known size for scale. The witnesses were there first hand and I’m sure it looked a lot different up close then the picture can do it justice.

When I saw this photograph my blood ran cold. I’m literaly shaking as I type this note that very same cryptid has OVERUN MY HOUSE. O dear God! , I started feeding one of these demonic monsters, then another and another. Using mindspeak these abominations forced me to let them IN MY HOUSE and continue to feed them. These creatures will only eat meat and I worry that I may be next….

It seems to be a mix of a bob cat and a domestic long hair. Nothing really to freak out about especially if its only two feet long, I have had house cats bigger then that, haha. The people who took this pictures seemed to be worried about nothing.

Could be a Manul or Palas’ Cat from Central Asia - somebody had an illegal pet or escaped from a sanctuary or Cinn Zoo, OH has them.

Seriously grasping at straws to get their five seconds of game.
It’s a large, orange tom cat.
Some toms have excessively large jowls, makes their heads look funky. Large toms happen, especially if Maine Coon is in the lineage.
Semi-long hairs can have long body hair and short hair on the faces. I think the poor lighting and his tabby facial markings are distorting his face, making him look where. I’ve seen tom cats looking exactly like this.
