The X-Files Creator to Produce New Series
Chris Carter, known for his famous TV series the X-files, will be the writer and executive producer of a new show about America’s mysterious facility Area 51.

Chris Carter, known for his famous TV series the X-files, will be the writer and executive producer of a new show about America’s mysterious facility Area 51. The new production will be based on Annie Jacobsen’s book Area 51, an uncensored history of America’s TOP SECRET military base.
The show will be produced for AMC, in what the network describes as “a contemporary conspiracy thriller revealing the true story behind the infamous Area 51, America’s most mysterious military installation.”
The X-Files aired from September 10, 1993 to May 19, 2002 on Fox and it lasted nine seasons that kept millions of fans hooked to their TV screens. The series generated record ratings starting up with 12 million viewers during the pilot episode.
No other information has been released about the new production so far, such as cast, crew or what its highly anticipated schedule will be.
