‘Werewolf’ Attacks in the Philippines

SIBALE ISLAND, Philippines — Farmers in the Philippines are reporting continuous vicious attacks on animals living in their farms.

The attacks, caused by an unknown creature, reportedly happen between midnight and 2 a.m. and right before the arrival of the full moon.

Mayor Lemuel Cipriano says the mysterious animal has already killed 200 goats by sucking their blood. The carcasses are then thrown in the open field, showing signs of strangling and stomach wounds.

“It’s a continuing goat massacre happening at the onset of the full moon almost every year since 2012. So far, more than 200 goats had been massacred by this unknown killer,” Cipriano told the Manila Standard Today.

The locals, who are sure the attacks are being caused by a four legged werewolf, are afraid they could be next after the goat population is wiped out. The goat population in the island was estimated at 1000 before the killing spree began.

1375401307mu4h8“We could not determine yet if the killers are werewolves, dogs or creatures pretending to be dogs,” Municipal agriculturist Nelia Yap said.

The incidents are strikingly similar to those made known by the infamous Chupacabras in the 1990s.

The mayor has decided to keep police night patrols active in the area in an attempt to stop the slaughter. It is undetermined whether the attacks are being carried out by one or more creatures traveling in packs across the island.

The Sibale Island is an isolated region located in the Central Philippines. In order to reach the island, people has to travel by boat for five hours or more.

Something is killing goats on Sibale Island; but, it is most definitely not a werewolf. The werewolf angle was probably cooked up by the reporter who first wrote about this story (http://manilastandardtoday.com/news/-provinces/152018/werewolves-kill-herds-of-animals-in-sibale-island.html) in the hopes of sensationalizing it. We don’t even have wolves in the Philippines.

Me and my friends visited Sibale Island in May 2015; and, we got to talk to some of the people there about this, including some who worked at the municipal office. They don’t know what is doing the killings. The closest natural explanation given by the government was that it was a rabid dog; though, no one there seems to believe this. They have set up traps. They caught nothing. No one brought up werewolves.

The people there say that these goat-killings would go on for a few weeks. Stop for a few months. Then resume again after some time. This cycle has been going on for years.

wolves being present in the Philippines is irrelevant. wolves don’t need to exist there for werewolves to.. werewolves are their OWN breed. elusive too.
