Multiple People Spot ‘Dinosaur’ in North Carolina

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. –A man from Mecklenburg County on Sunday said he saw a “dinosaur-like creature”.

35-year-old B.T., a salesman who provided a full name but asked to remain anonymous, told Cryptozoology News that he was at Lake Norman on a boat with his friends when the animal showed up on Saturday morning.

“I was on a boat with my friends,” he said. “We were near the lakes main channel when we saw something splashing around in the water.”

He described the alleged creature as a 10-feet-long dinosaur reminiscent of the mythical Loch Ness monster. He added that the animal was visible for about 1 minute before disappearing back into the water. There were no photographs or videos submitted with the report.

In 2016, a man from the same area reported seeing a reptilian being swimming at Lake Norman.

In 2015, a man claiming to be a park ranger told Cryptozoology News he had seen “something that looked like a dinosaur” eating a duck at the same lake.

Reports of lake monsters are rare.

In 2014, a Canadian man released a series of photographs containing what he claimed to be the Opogogo monster.

The same year, a park ranger at Lake Tele, Republic of Congo, said he had spotted a dinosaur-like monster and was able to watch it for over 5 minutes.

Lake Norman, fed by the Catawba River, was created in 1964 and is currently the largest artificial body of fresh water in the Taar Heel State.

“Watched for over 5 minutes.” But it never occurred for him to get out his phone and record some video? I call shenanigans.

@Mike, he said 1 minute, not 5 minutes. 1 minute is still a long time, I suppose, but I would probably keep watching the thing instead of recording it, in case it left. I would have asked my friends to bring out a cell phone though, lol

Dangit! The Cell Phone Blurrycams were not working. One guy and three of his buddies and a Dinosaur on top of the water for nearly a minute and not one single Blurrycam photo.

It is uncommon but not unheard of for an alligator to be spotted in that lake. Now I think some of the sightings of “normie” cannot be as easily explained as just a gator. However if these guys did see something I would have to say alligator. When you are not expecting it a 6′-7′ gator can look much larger.

I lived in newton nc about 3 years ago and we had a little pull off under a bridge near my house. A lot of us would go to fish and swim under the big overpass. Until when I went down one time with a friend. It was a fairly straight river, pretty deep at some points in the section, and the lake itself is really deep at least a couple 100 feet if I remember. There was a small cove maybe 50 feet across, just a little area, maybe 3 ft deep. we got about 10 feet from the water and the whole cove like erupted. IT was like an entire school of fish moved at one time and swam into the river. I am guessing the could be normie, it made me think of one long creature got spooked and swam off. had to be bigger than 10ft though.
