CHILE — A video captured the moment an unidentified flying object came close to collision with one of Chile’s Army planes.
The incident took place during an airshow last month in the town of Puerto Varas.
The video shows a fighter plane from the Escuadrilla Alta Acrobacia Halcones, also known as FACH, flying up vertically when a bright orange high-speed flying object intercepts the plane’s path.
Marco Silva, a lawyer from the region, posted the event on Twitter.
UFO appearances in the South American continent have been copiously reported since the early 60s.
In 2015, a father and his son captured the images of what they referred to as a ‘UFO fleet’ in Peru, resembling the infamous 1997 sighting known as the Phoenix Lights in Arizona.
The city of Puerto Varas is located in southern Chile’s Lake District and is near the Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes.
