New Photograph of ‘Beast of Bodmin’ Suggests the Cryptid Could be Breeding

PLYMOUTH — A 19-year-old has photographed an unknown cat-like animal at a field in Gwinear, near Plymouth.

The witness, amateur photographer Henry Warren, says he was taking pictures of his new house when he noticed the creature running on the field.

“It certainly looks like a big cat,” the student said.

The animal then disappeared into the thick vegetation next to the field.

“It ran around 60 metres in just a few seconds and was leaping in the air with its front two legs first,” Warren added.

Warren believes the sighting could be linked to the elusive ‘Beast of Bodmin Moor’, a phantom wild cat purportedly living in the county of Cornwall in the United Kingdom first spotted in 1983. Only a few sightings of the cryptid have been reported over the years.

“I did some research after and thought it may be linked to the Beast of Bodmin.”

Big cats are not endemic to the United Kingdom and are known as “alien cats”. Some experts believe that these creatures could be the result of the introduction of big cats in the country during the 1960s and 1970s, when wealthy citizens resorted to keeping their young cubs as pets, then releasing  them into the English wilderness when becoming adults.

“It was absolutely massive and was hoping up and down like a large cat. There’s no way it could have been fox, a dog or anything else like that,” said Warren.

But curious internet users rushed to write comments about the picture, claiming this is just a fox jumping in front of the camera.

The sighting occurred 45 miles away from Bodmin Moor, where the alleged beast is supposed to live.

The picture was sent to the British Big Cat Society. They believe that pumas and panthers could be breeding in Great Britain.
