TAHOE CITY, Calif. — New images obtained by Cryptozoology News show large footprints were present at last week’s alleged ‘Bigfoot’ sighting spot in Lake Tahoe. Additional photographic evidence also confirms that the dark figure spotted in the controversial footage was not a tree stump.
The series of photographs, sent to Cryptozoology News by two Tahoe City residents, were reportedly taken seven days after the incident occurred and depict the men posing at the exact spot where the purported creature made its appearance in the original video.
When 30-year-old motorcyclists Mason Rogers and Chris Tuck read the article and watched the footage, they decided to examine the place.
“Here are some pictures I took at the supposed Bigfoot sighting spot in my area. I saw the footage, recognized the street and went to investigate,” Rogers told Cryptozoology News. “I travel this road frequently, so I immediately recognized it. Now, I don’t really believe they exist, but there were impressions in the ground, which I also photographed, that either a large man or ‘something’ left.”
The footprints, he said, were a “good 11 inches long and 5-6 inches wide towards the front”.
“Tuck’s shoe size is 9. The shape was like a large man’s footprint, but not that distinguished, because of the rainfall. It had probably rained two or three times since the video was supposedly shot a week earlier, so the impressions were not as identifiable,” said Rogers.
According to the men, there was also some disturbed vegetation “leading up hill to the spot” where the “creature” was seen.
The air didn’t smell “out of the ordinary”, they said. A common thing reported to investigators about purported Bigfoot sightings is the presence of a foul odor in the area, which occasionally impregnates the surrounding air for days.
Rogers has extensive experience with the native wildlife and currently maintains his own YouTube channel where he posts his critter encounters.
“I have lived in the area almost five years. I have captured bears and other animals on video out here, but have not captured any Bigfoots that I know of.”
Rogers doesn’t believe the dark figure shown in the original video is a bear.
“It did not look like a bear to me. The bears here are very skittish and would have either run off right at the sound of the long boarder, or if it was a momma bear with cubs, the cubs would have been treed and the momma bear would most likely stand at the base of the tree they are up. The creature was not standing near a tree base. It was by a lot of small trees and shrubs,” he explained.
