THAYER, Miss. — Two people in Oregon County say they came across an unknown animal that looked like a mix between a dog and a kangaroo.

Sarah Miller, a 26-year-old EMT Thayer resident, told Cryptozoology News on Saturday that they were on their way to her friend’s house when they spotted the creature.

“We were driving on a blacktop road when this very strange creature ran across the road in front of us,” she said. “It ran kind of funny, like a lazy loping movement,” she added.

Miller says the animal was running on four legs but that it reminded her “a lot of a skinny kangaroo”.

She described its body as hairless and featuring a gray skin.

“Dog-like in appearance with notably longer hind legs. It had large ears and a sharply pointed snout, long thick tail like a kangaroo.”

Miller added that she has seen a lot of coyotes before and that the animal they saw back in 2013 didn’t look anything like one of the canids.

“This was completely different in shape. It was like a It reminded me a lot of a skinny kangaroo running on all fours, but there’s no way there would be a hairless
kangaroo running around in southern Missouri,” she said.

They were not able to gather photographic evidence of the purported being.

Also in 2013, a woman released footage of a creature she believed to be the Dogman.

The Dogman is a cryptid reputed to live in the northwestern quadrant of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, although other sightings have been reported in other states. This unproven creature was first allegedly spotted in 1887 by two lumberjacks, who described the creature as having a human body and a dog’s head.

Thayer, formerly known as Augusta, is a town near Arkansas and has a population of 2,200.

This could’ve been a hairless bear. Google Image search “hairless black bear” and the first images check off many of the features the witness describes: gray wrinkled skin, snout like a kangaroo, long ears, it could even look like it had longer hind legs from certain angles.
