Bigfoot Spotted in Bethel, Alaska
BETHEL, Alaska — A man and his nephew claim they saw a Bigfoot while fishing along the Tarperrnaq River in the fall of 2011.
Dana Kopanuk says they were approaching their fishing net when they saw someone walking through the tall grass of the river’s bank. At first, he said, he thought it was a person, but he then realized it was too tall and hairy to be a human being.
According to the witnesses, the creature wasn’t wearing any clothes and it didn’t act like a person.
“If he were from camp, he would wait for us,” Kopanuk told KTUU.
They observed the animal for about 10 minutes before they moved to a different spot. The men admit they were not scared because they know the creature isn’t known for hurting anybody.
“I say my name and I believe what I see, I don’t know where they live. I don’t know how they survive,” he said.
The local network also reports that most witnesses don’t like to provide their real names, which makes Kopanuk’s sighting “different” from the others.
“Even the illustrator that creates drawings for the paper wants to be known only as ‘AI’,” Lacie Grosvold wrote.
The city of Bethel is located 400 miles west of Anchorage and is home to 5,000 people.
